25,000 Dartford residents have signed our petition, No to Labour's Dartford Car Tax.
Many local residents have spoken out against the proposal and highlighted how this would impact their daily lives, from travelling to work and doing the weekly shop.
Prospective Conservative Candidate for the Dartford North East division Peter Whapshott said: "It is clear from the local response that the Labour car tax is not welcomed here. This would hit the lowest earners the hardest, many who rely on moving between the boundaries every day to visit family and travel to work".
Since the petition was launched it has attracted local and national media attention.
